Only problem with that is when the money dries out, them rings of the Championships you won only bring you a low percentage of the money you gave up in your playing days at the Auction.

stop worrying about nikkas pockets as if they're irresponsible with their money (as far as bron & them go) and if they were let them worry about that....

The worst part is Wade acting like he's still part of the group. Dude isn't worth 12 million let alone 20.

However, I would like guys to sign for as low as possible just to piss off the owners. Until you get rid of restrictive contracts for unrestricted free agents, you will never have parity.

No. That's YOU and the rest of these "holier than thou" fans when in reality, if $42 mil is dangling in front of you like one of those carrots in a Bugs Bunny cartoon, you taking that shyt.

Fans are stupid and unrealistic.

Of course I would. I'm broke as ****. These guys make an insane amount of money already, they're probably not as stressed about as you think they should be. They have enough money that their financial security is almost never in question (In their eyes).

To some of these guys, a chance at a championship is more important than something they already have an incomprehensible amount of.

:mjlol: the lack of common sense in this thread tho

UD was guaranteed 4.6 million on a one year contract. What will his worth be after next season? What kind of free agent contract would a 36 year old get after next season? A vet minimum? 2 million at most from a bottom feeder team? So he turns 4.6 million guaranteed into maybe 6 million over 2 years guaranteed. He just upped his guaranteed money and gets to stay where he wants. How again is he losing in this?

Same with Wade, who by Coli consensus is washed. He is guaranteed like 41 million over the next 2 years. What would a 34 year old Dwyane Wade command as a free agent in 2 years? Not fukking much. So instead he takes a 4 year 55 million dollar deal,he just upped his guaranteed money by at least 14 million, but somehow he is losing in this?

Coli logic

Exactly. They're still getting their money and will be making more than the market would dictate while giving the franchise some flexibility to add to the roster

We gonna act like the Bulls dint bring in Rodman and Bryan Williams (top 10 PF in the L at the time) as a free agent for a year either :sas1:
Back then there was no player max salary or luxury tax for owners to care about. :queen:

Jordan alone was making $26M. Rodman at $10M . Kukoc was getting more than Pippen and Bryan Williams signed a small deal to win. Not to forget Harper.

they signed him in damn April because he held out all season for the Clippers

Because we, as fans, put an ungodly amount of pressure for players to win championships and stars are looked at as failures if they don't get rings rather than be appreciated on the merits of their ability.

This.

You dudes sound like hypocritical idiots. You want to judge players by their team success and rings, yet get mad when they make sacrifices to attain just that.

Players see how guys like T-Mac (who routinely carried absolute bums to the playoffs, despite not winning once he got there, due to his team's glaring deficiencies), Melo, and Kevin Love are labeled "losers" or "selfish" because of the lack of team success they've had, in large part due to the talent they're surrounded by, and they don't want to be labeled as such.

Can't fault a player for making sacrifices for the sake of team success when dumb shyt like "Bill Russell is the GOAT because he has 11 rings" or "Player A > Player B because he has more championships" is perpetuated.

If we weren't so lazy with our analysis of players' legacies, and like dude said, actually appreciated players on the merits of their ability, things might be different.

I'm not worried about their pockets, they don't pay my bills, I'm just saying what their agents/Advisers, people close to them and the players themselves are probably thinking, from hearing other players discuss it that been through the situation themselves, Which is most likely the case seeing Wade/Bosh wait till the last minute to PROBABLY Opt-out. If it was so easy, you'd think they would've opted out by now.

We will see. I hope they're thinking like you guys just because they made $100 Million BEFORE Taxes, they should slash the biggest payday in their career and give up millions of dollars (Again). According to your logic, $20 Million to a Multi-Millionaire is not $20 million after all....

BTW Google tax rates on $100 Million and let me know if you still think they "Already Won $100s of millions"

Who said anything about being stressed? What if they just want more money?
