So much misunderstanding about that move. The NBA owned the Hornets and didn't want the trade to happen because they were looking to sell the team at reasonable valuations which they couldn't do if they didn't have a star player in the team. Odom, Scola and K Martin weren't going to cut it.

I wouldn't take a pay cut if I was one of the big three. Speaking in my suspicion, I believed the Heat negotiated contracts with a back door deal to allow the Big Three to remain as the core, which helped their owner to escape the wrath of a luxury tax. Wade,Lebron, and Bosh will be rewarded handsomely in the future for sacrificing the millions that is needed to "Retool" the franchise. Evidently, Riley and Mickey are loyal guys who look out for their long-term players. So, in conclusion, everybody wins. We are going to witness the grand wizard Pat Riley work his usual magic to add a notable mid-level player in the summer.Hopefully, it will be a center that can score and rebound in the paint and play exceptional defense. We are off to a great start in the off season. Don't be shock if we get Gasol or Gortat. The Don never failed Miami.
