Putin more than likely never planned for this war to drag on like it has.

That's the problem with one man led countries, they'll underestimate the opponents resolve or their own strength and get themselves into trouble.

Ukraine not getting taken over in its entirety is a win for them just as much as the taken over territory is a win for Russia when putin probably went into this thinking Ukraine would be entirely subjugated.

Declaring an end to the operation will be in name only. They’re not gonna be okay with losing 20% of their land and the body count will remain consistent. Like he said, Putin has emboldened the national spirit and they need to make sure they incapacitate the enemy (which they have not) for the sake of their guys in those sectors AND the Russians/loyalists also..

Ukraine can’t win according to Zelenskys definition of win. This would have to end with Ukraine taking back Crimea. So yeah, they losing

Granted, I don't follow this really....got 1-2 posts in the official thread....but Putin was supposed to:

1. Kill Zelensky and/or oust him from power.

2. Take over Ukraine completely.

Putin did neither of those.

So yeah....I'm kinda confused here as to what you're trying to say. If you want to argue neither side is winning ok I guess but "yeah boys, we got Crimea!" and high fives as Russians ride off into the sunset was never Putin's end game. He wanted everything.
