so devin isnt on any ignant shyt? are you saying that as of march 19, 2013, that devin the dude is hotter than trinidad james? have you been to a devin the dude show? i have seen several of his shows and the only people there are under 21 year old weedheads that look lost and are just there to smoke. just sayin.

much love to devin, but you are lying to yourself if you think devin's buzz is near that of trinidad james, and i dont listen to trinidad james.

Yes devin is more popular than trinidad James. Trinidad might get more radio spins. But as far as fans around the world checking for his shyt devin wins hands down, there's not even a discussion there.

And yes I've been to multiple devin the dude shows, and there was everyone there from young white girls to old hood nikkas and they all knew the words to his songs.

Y'all let this tv and radio shyt hype y'all up. Don't nobody give a fukk about Trinidad James. Devin is a legend and still relevant after 20 year, not many rappers can say that, and by this time next year Trinidad James will be gone.

fukk you a$$hole, how about not letting stereotypes make you think that people that live in the hood can't hold a convo. :snoop:

No jackass it's not that people in the hood can't hold a conversation. It's that people in the hood that say things like this:

This ain’t for no fukk nikka
If you a real nikka then fukk wit’ me
This one for the hood nikkas

Can't hold a conversation. If he's so smart and well spoken, then why does he sound like an idiot in his music?

man please...if you think the average person in the hood talks well and goes to college youre fooling yourself.

because if that is what the average hood person is like the hood woulnt look the way it does.

Again, your ridiculously limiting stereotype of the "average person in the hood" that you're trying to force everyone from urban communities into leaves no room for the actual diversity of individuals to be found there...ESPECIALLY from a fairly obvious try-hard contemporary urban hipster like Trinidad James (doing my own stereotyping here), whose entire schtick is made up to a large degree of trying his damnedest to stand out and be seen as "different"...did you honestly see the All Gold Everything video and mistake him as a member of Brick Squad? The very first words out of his mouth in the only song he's known for is a vintage video game reference to Golden Eye on N64...and then goes on to shout various colleges, smartphone social media apps, and hypebeasts...All Gold Everything is hardly Bricks or Make the Trap Say Aye or whatever song better fits into your hood caricature box...outside of the shameful implication that you're shocked somebody from the "hood" can hold a conversation, I don't even see why you'd place him in that space to begin with....

Your point?

He puts on the persona that he is a "hood nikka"

Not that he's from the hood, but that he is a "hood nikka"

That dude in the nardwar interview is not a hood nikka. Again this isn't to say that he is not from the hood, but he isn't a hood nikka.

He's stereotyped himself by the way he portrays himself in his music. It's only reasonable that some people would be confused to see him in an interview NOT acting like a stereotypical "hood nikka"

Nardwuar vs. Trinidad James - YouTube

:dwillhuh:
I dont know anything about this dude other than the All Gold Everythang video.
The whole video is promoting the hood lifestyle...yet its clear from this interview he isnt hood.

I actually like the fact that he can hold a conversation and isnt hood...but why do these cats feel like ignorance is the only way to make music?

Trinidad james is hood :heh:

Come on man...I said we need more cats that are different.
The whole video is shot like "Ha" and has him walking the streets w/ cats in Black T's, shooting dice, holding a gun, masked up etc...he put himself in that box.

I understand everyone in the hood isnt the same...but there is a large (unfortunate) sameness amongst black people that you see videos like this perpetuate. He obviously doesnt live that life, but he flashes those visuals.
and it might not be right, but when someone says "nikka nikka nikka just watch me"...well, people are going to assume the worst.

and again...lets all stop pretending the hood is a training ground for scientist. yes there are people that are different. But theres a reason why you dont see gangs shooting each other in neighborhoods that arent considered "the hood".
