Where do you place the Air Fryer while its doing its thing. Does it mess up countertops if it gets too hot?

I just made steak in the air fryer tonight for my family. They love it. I season and marinate the same way. The only difference is 400° for 12-15 mins, flip half way, easier cleanup.

Mine stays on the countertop while cooking. No damage, it stills a few inches off the ground to not burn your counter.

I haven't used it too much but when I have, taste good

The heat waves come from the top it. Doesn't mess up countertops at all. Leave it on your counter.

Oh aight. So another question. You know how when you cooking on a fry plan, you put the oil, onions, and other seasoning on the pan

Can you do that with the Air Fryer? Can you let the oil and seasoning sit for 2-5 min, then put the meat on it, or is that not possible?
