exactly other players getting no trade clauses for this exact reason. Blame Blake and his agent for not getting one

He had a no trade clause at 4 years but Blake wanted a 5th year tacked on to the deal and that erased the no trade clause.

I don’t get the “so what, this is a business talk.” Certain organizations carry themselves a certain way, and that mentality permeates down to the coaches and players. Every team makes trades. But a properly run professional team knows how to handle people and situations in a professional manner. After telling Blake he was their franchise player and showing him his jersey in the rafters and saying he’d retire a Clipper and all that, the least they can do to treat him the right way is to let him know he is being moved before insiders and social media all finds out. Players all talk amongst each other, bet they talk about which organizations are shytty and treat their players like shyt. Then those organizations wonder why they strike out on free agents.

I agree they shouldn't have done all that "you're a Clipper for life"- hanging his jersey up in the rafters bullshyt. There was no need for that but there have been rumors of him possible on the move for weeks now even though the media said it was only Lou and DJ on the block. They handled it wrong in certain areas with the trade but team has stood by Blake though all kinds of injuries over the years especially in the post season. They also surprisingly still had his back when he broke his hand after punching the team equipment manager in the face. Most teams would've shipped him out immediately after that. And most importantly gave him a max deal when he's not a max player. I agree this trade was handled rather poorly but tbh the Clipps have spoiled and pampered Blake for years.

I get all that. I'm speaking more on those that think a team doesn't owe a player the decency to let him know he was traded. Like speak up and talk to them in a professional manner and tell them what's up.

True but is Woj so good at his job that no team/front office has a chance to get ahead and alert players before a "Woj Bomb" gets tweeted? I'm thinkin' Blake wanted a phone call from the GM- which I do get and should be customary- before it hits the public but I'm 100% positive he wasn't clueless to the fact that he was on the trade block.

This is why I am all for players who refuse to play for less and take that 'hometown discount'. As soon as the organization finds they can 'get a deal on you', you're out the door.
