It's the Grammy's. lol. I don't know why this shyt became such a big goal for hip hop artist. Will Smith and Jay Z have both boycotted the awards. Move on. The Grammys mean nothing to hip hop.

This even applys to dance music. Some no name dude got nominated for record of the year. At some point artist and fans have to know when to not give a shyt about the awards... They're a joke for genres that represent youth.

It was #1 on several non-hiphop lists as song of the year.

But yes Dear Mama was better, but they are both straight up classics.
Besides Gangstas Paradise being so much biger, I don't think they wanted a young black convicted sex offender to take their stage fresh outta jail.

Dear Mama is more timeless and it is a great song, but that Gangster's Paradise was huge when it dropped. So this is one time the Grammy's got it right i think.
