Probably my favorite thing about this forum is that it appreciates Gucci Mane as a rapper. Not only is he one of the hardest working rappers out today, gracing us with mixtape after mixtape of consistently good rap music, he is loyal to anyone who is loyal back to him, and works hard for them too.

Watch some of his interviews.. I think some of you haters will be surprised at just how well spoken he is and how collected his thoughts are. He's a smart man if nothing else, and brutally honest. I seriously sympathize with him and what he's going through, and wish him the best.

Gucci is a fukking street legend and has been one since like 2010. I can still listen to Chicken Talk and Mr. Perfect and Ice Attack to this day like they're brand new.

he just smart enuff to get on the wave and lend support before they blow nationally....

I like how you basically explained an A&R's job in a concise sentence, as if it is really that easy to pick out raw talent from an artist pool of thousands. There's plenty of trap artists in atl, yet Guwop has been able to constantly pick up the ones who go on to be the most popular acts out of the south. How many people Jeezy put on? Ludacris? TI?

he did the same thing with V Nasty when white girl mob was getting hype and attention and we see how that turned out:mjlol:

That "album" was heavily orchestrated by the label, Warner Bros'. Kreshawn had just dropped that cut "Gucci Gucci Louie Louie", and the label was looking for a quick way to get V-Nasty out there on the same wave. Both Gucci and V-Nasty were signed to WB at the time the album dropped, and if you heard the album and saw the promotion, then you would definitely know Guwop simply got a check cut for doing his part. He didn't seek out V-Nasty, never had her on any of his projects, never tweeted about the album, hell he never even did any music with her after the album dropped. He simply submitted his verses and hooks and got that check.

what u do gotta give em credit for is for not tryna suppress these young nikkas or bein threatened....cuz what he did aint shyt a TI or Jeezy couldn't have did as they live in ATL and know these nikkas is buzzzin locally too....but I get the idea they be hopin these nikkas don't blow up nationally to make sure they stay at the forefront as they reach the tail end of they career

That makes no sense, if TI or Jeezy could've done what Wop did (as far as finding talent goes) then why wouldn't they have? Rick Ross sustained his buzz through his artists and collaborators; with no MMG/Khaled/that whole camp, all we would've had was Ross, Ross and more Ross from 2005 until now, but he knew to bring up others to affiliate his brand with, which brings everything full circle because if he is promoting his brand through other artists, he is also promoting himself. This is precisely what Wop has done with 1017 and himself. Thug, Migos, Scooter, Future, Waka, Juice, all the young nicca producers, have all aligned themselves with 1017 and Gucci at one point or another. TI and Jeezy may have sold more albums and may attend more industry parties than Gucci, but I guarantee you they envy the respect this nicca Gucci receives from the new generation of rappers, especially the respect young ATL has for Wop.

he is a pioneer and a genius, he been carrying atlanta and the rap game on his back for years :wow:

waka, migos, scooter, thug, juiceman, future, rich homie, keef, nicki, french, gotti

plus all the producers he put on (lex luger, 808 mafia, mike will made it, zaytoven, honorable c-note, metro boomin, sonny digital)

the most iconic and influential legend since tunechi :banderas:

but since he's a real street nikka and aint sell his soul to crossover he will never get the recognition and respect he deserves

Gucci is the Bill Parcells of rap/hip-hop. Like the coaching tree Parcells has in the NFL, that's Gucci with artists and producers.

That's why a A&R aint all that genius to me,just takes a nikka with his ear to the streets:manny:...When I think A&R's I think of people that sit around and wait for somebody else to do all the legwork and build a buzz and then come in after the artist is damn near a sure thing,Big Red from the 5 Heart Beats status:pachaha:....I just cant consider that genius, just mean u got some money and respect....I respect his money and respect and putting his ego to the side.

If u askin why TI and Jeezy didn't,everybodys ego aint the same or don't give a fukk about sustaining they brand but just wanna sustain themselves at this point as top dogs...but if they ear was to the street at all they knew about these nikkas same time Gucci did,i remember a interview Young Dro talked about Young Thug long time ago.....TI already said he aint tryna pass no damn torches:heh:..I respect Gucci bein a boss, havin money and respect of these young nikkas to where they eager to work with em,but I aint givin em credit for 90% of this list yall keep pushin:childplease:...id have to call myself and too many sohh/coli posters over the years geniuses for makin predictions on talent that was much more of a shot in the dark,i don't wanna do that:mjpls:

But 2-Glock Shawty is a legend when it comes to having an eye for talent. Only hate for Gucci can lead someone to say otherwise.
