The implication is that hip hop - one of, if not THE most important cultural movements in the black community - was only possibly because a bunch of black people embraced their supposed inherent criminality and stole all the equipment. Like I said, racist propaganda.

Who said this was the "only" way equipment was amassed??

Whatever you say man, keep that wool over your eyes

Let me help with the real wool here, DJ equipment at that time wasn't that "expensive" like this blurb says.
Anybody could get turntables, speakers, and mics...if they didn't already have them.

So maybe there were folk who looted and got some...that doesn't mean that's the "only" way people got equipment,
and that's irresponsible to say.

I didn't say that, nor do I believe that to be the case AT ALL. My point is that the infographic or whatever you want to call it in the OP implies that.

it says countless aspiring dj's were able to get expensive equipment. compared to the equipment they had or certain pieces they didnt have.
you had those who had the equipment... and those who might not have.'either way, as explained, many hit up stores to complete their collections and succeeded.
HENCE the explosion of music being made and brewing compared to before.
lightning strukk and helped the situation that was ALREADY there.

stfu about your racist propaganda. you dont even know what areas got looted the hardest

My point is that I don't think the piece implies that.

I think you saw that, and that's where your mind went. Whether or not that was the intention of the "infographic", I don't know.
The same way it doesn't say that "countless aspiring DJs looted equipment"; it says they "were able to" do that.

Does it mention black people looting for DJing equipment?
Does it SHOW A PICTURE of black people allegedly in the process of looting said equipment?
Does it mention black people acquiring DJing equipment by any other, more legitimate mean?

But sure, there's no agenda behind it at all :beli:

how do you not know that that kid not showing his face is hispanic.
the agenda is in your brain. because you're from australia.
and you took a situation that happened in certain neighborhoods and turned it into someone trying to try racial propaganda.
its a sentence with a picture.
if you knew what kind of DJ's and MC's actually existed bakk then, you wouldnt think it was being racist.
maybe some guinea from 1977 that was into dj'ing in little italy might think it was racist.

I didn't say there was no agenda behind it, now did I?

But don't help further the agenda by adding in chit that it doesn't say...there's enough to address
in what it does say.
