Joe shoulda took that money. It's only going to raise his brand and price higher for the future.
I think the exact opposite. This show is picking up momentum and probably close to its apex. Most of these shows reach a surge of popularity until something new comes along then no one is talking about it like that. So why lock yourself in for less? The smart move is to secure that bag now before your show starts to fall off cause then you lose all bargaining power. The best move is showing that this show can be a real thing and shopping yourself around if you don't get the offer you like from Complex while your popularity is rising.

if people watch outta hate or love, they still get the view count.
They're watching it more to express their discontent for Budden not being there. Just saw a clip of Akademiks saying he's disappointed about the news. The show was great. You're watching it for the dynamic of Joe and Ak. They had good chemistry and it'll be hard to replace

complex entire platform is currently based around akademiks, his fanbase and his music taste. considering complex just replaced budden with whoo kid, what makes you think budden is the draw? as someone else said, any bitter oldhead could take joes spot on the show.
What old head can compete with Joes energy and passion as he calls it. :yeshrug:

Currently listening to the podcast. I’m dead at Joe Buddens, “IM DOING THIS FOR THE CREATORS :damn:!!!” Stance on why he quit :mjlol:

This nikka should’ve went independent with Ak. They already had the platform, so would’ve been WAY easier than starting it from nothing

No. He said he's not doing it with another person and him and Joe will probably do something together in the future. Watch his last twitch

i did watch it. he said complex is doing their best to accommodate him. he followed with saying long as hes on the show, it will do numbers. i didnt hear him at any point claim he’d quit without joe. i did hear him clown his viewers for even suggesting it tho.

He said he’s still under contract and can’t just quit, that’s basically all he said. Regarding the future of the show, it all depends on how the negotiations go.

With AK that show will never lose popularity. Joe became a household name off that show. The biggest new rappers reference him. Plus the show isn't something that takes all day to do. 200k a year for a few hours work is nothing.

Folks got to stop acting like Budden wasn't bringing his own audience to the show to. Yes AK got a strong fan base but so does Joe. The reason the show worked so well is the combination of both of their fan bases and both of them say as much. Nothing AK has done has increased the popularity of the show. All the moments that have gone viral and blown up were Joe spazzing. Only thing AK has done that blew up was Vic Mensa going at him. And that's no hate on AK cause I love that the perspective he brings.

Also you're thinking too small time. Yes 200K is a lot of money for a few hours of work but why settle instead of seeing if there's more money out there to be made. If anything this gives Joe a chance to shop around and see just how much people are offering for a format that he's shown can work now. Why not maximize your value and if if you find that Complex's offer was really teh best that was out there then go back and accept their offer. That's smart business.
