Came in to say Big Boss isn't a "villain"

But in MGS the plot is so confusing and convoluted no one is ever a "hero" or a "villain", in fact, sometimes who a person is in MGS just up and changes from game to game.

:childplease: nikka stop.

It takes a lot to fully and completely grasp the complied plot of the MGS universe in it's entirety, because 50% of it is just straight up horseshyt that doesn't make any damn sense.
You never wanted to understand it. :camby:

You have to play every game to understand what's going on. There are a ton of FAQs and youtube videos that would do a better job at explaining the details of the story. For people that are relatively new to the series I would say the main thing you need to know is that Big Boss was never really a "bad guy" in the traditional sense. He was exposed to the truth about how soldiers were nothing more than tools of the government that lived and died on a whim. This is something he couldn't accept, and he began to form an army that was FOR the soldiers and against corrupt regimes. His leadership was legendary, and therefore they felt it necessary to create clones of him to keep his legacy alive if he died. These clones grew up to be Solidus, Solid, and Liquid. Solidus wanted to keep the corrupt system alive, Liquid wanted to control the system and establish his own regime, and Solid was trying to stop them both to restore order in the world, destroying the shadow groups involved and toppling the business of perpetuating war and using soldiers. In this game everyone has blood on their hands. Kojima himself compared Big Boss to Walter White from Breaking Bad, explaining that while his original intentions were noble, he will do some immoral things, that although the player will clearly disagree with some of his choices, they will understand why he does what he does and will root for him and want him to die at the same time.

Solidus was doing bad shyt but in the end he wanted to DESTROY the patriots as much as anyone because they was behind alot of the shyt behind the scenes he did the whole big shell incident in hopes they would show themselves or he could track them down... which was insane... :mjlol:

At that point the Patriots were all dead, which is why in Metal Gear Solid 4 everything was automated and run through a super computer. The whole system the Philosophers set up in Metal Gear Solid 3 became the patriots and when the patriots died it became the SOP system. (Sons of the patriots). Its a complex story of betrayal but anyone pays any kind of attention it's not the hardest thing in the world to follow. It's actually really interesting stuff, and I'm sure a lot of the core concepts go on today in real life. Where this game gets a lot of criticism is when Kojima got heavily involved adding all the sci fi stuff.
