every rapper with a failed career says this now :heh:

because no one could think of alllll the wayyyy turnt up (repeat 10x)

How I know you don't do shyt with music.

Huge difference between crafting a hook and 'thinking of the words'. Like it's just thinking of words? We're not writing advertising copy breh

A lot of people really don't know songs are wRittenhouse and shopped around. When people think of such and such writing for someone else, they think it's all someone going to a studio and writing a song for someone in mind. In most cases it's an artist and a producer (who are on a label) making a song and the label offering it up to their bigger artists.

That's what people like Roscoe and Yung Berg are doing in the game right now. Working with producers they have a good relationship with recording tons of songs with the sole intent of selling them.

The easiest example of this is BoB with Nothing On You and Airplanes which Atlantic gave to Lupe first

People need to know what write means.
Marvin Gaye co-wrote American Dreamin by Jay-z, some unknowing broads wrote Empire State of Mind, giving advice on a 99 % done track can give you writing credits, having the song first and leaving some background vocals can give you writing credits and on.

Isn't this thread about writing the hook and coming up with the structure and concept of the song?

Thats easily the most important part of the song when you talk about the music business. The bars dont sell records

Yes what I'm saying is that there's several ways of writing songs and that it's common. Specially hooks and just adding a better singer.
And yes concept/hook is the most important for most songs. Delivering the shyt is just as important though, I doubt the song would've been nearly as nice if it was Roscoe instead of Miguel. Miguel murked out that song.

Who the hell was that producer though, I can't find another song that he's produced.

It could be an alias.

But Im with you, that's why devaluing an artist work because they have writers is silly

If all it took was for someone to write a song then there would be no failures in music

I'm pretty sure everyone knows about Skeme and the work hes done with Iggy.. He writes a LOT of her shyt including Fancy

Bobby Brackins writes for Tinashe, Chris Brown and a bunch of other pop acts.. dude wrote Loyal, too on etc.

Berg actually came into the game writing for Eve, DMX (shocking aint it?) and other Ruff Ryder cats.. most recently hes written for Wayne, Nicki Minaj (wrote like 3/4 records on that Pinkprint shyt) Rihanna, etc. wrote Diamonds for Fabolous

and like dude up top guessed, Stat works with Game a lot.. Its mostly hook work though which is or used to be dudes weakness. Nobody noticed how hes suddenly improved? Speakin of Game.. Ill just throw it out there, J. Cole wrote Games verses for the song Pray w/ JMSN... Im actually not entirely sure if it was ever even intended to be a Game song at all when it was originally recorded.. Cole ended up reusing bars he wrote for that ..I'm surprised nobody ever noticed..

"She ride or die like Eve and them, make home cooked meals every evening" - Game on Pray
"She ride or die like Eve and them, make home cooked meals every evening" - J. Cole on Runaway

on top of that, J. Cole wrote Games verses on Drug Test from the Red Album.. dont believe me? anyone with the album booklet, go look at credits.. tell me what you see

its actually pretty obvious listening to it that J. Cole is Game and Dre is Kendrick Lamar on this.. listen to the flow and delivery lol. Game don't rap like that :laff:

so happy all the Berg shyt is coming to light these days

dude writing shyt ya'll be jamming too all the time, that new Meek Mill song with Chris Brown and Ty Dolla included
