I don't believe in platonic friendships so I would probably feel hesitant.
The closest male friend I have/had is someone I've known for ~5/6 years: we've traveled, worked together, know each others fam, and he was the only male companion I would turn to for advice re: men/relationships. In my last three year relationship, my ex was extremely comfortable with him and enjoyed his company too... which says a lot, because that nikka was jealous/possessive as fukk. So I thought it was the perfect case of a platonic friendship.
One time this friend explained to me the concept of a "charlie" -- nikkas who make a girl feel sweet up, will wait in the friend zone and then swoop in the moment she's single. Ironically, a week or two after my relationship ended, he swooped in and professed feelings. He still tries it until today
*drake voice* no male friends, no male friends, no male friends, no no no
