To be fair Black Hebrew Israelites aren't all the same group. Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown were Hebrew Israelites but not the ones dressed like Power Ranger villains yelling at people on street corners. These ones you will commonly find them actually living in various African countries and even tho they call themselves Hebrew Israelites they still identify as Africans. But even the street corner ones aren't all the same as many now have 1st and 2nd generation Africans in their ranks. Also remember one group in NY having a white dude who was reading scripture as the leader was debating Polight back in the day.

Personally as a Black person Id prefer to keep my options open, especially in this maga kkk climate incase I needed to flee the US for a Black country.
How will that even happen now when a majority of Black foreigners that had no issues with Black Americans whatsoever are being told we are at war and instinctively will fight back..

The connection is more cosmetic than something built out of a shared history/struggle.
The problem really lies in denying our heritage and taking up an ethnic identity/heritage that did not exist when we were formed in America through mixing of many different people groups.
That is the problem. An ADOS/American Freedman has as much connection to Africa as s/he has to Europe. Ultimately, that "connection" doesn't matter - it's useless. The only thing that matters - and the connection that is meaningful - is the one your ancestors fought and died for. Our ancestors didn't fight and die for Africa, they did so for the USA.
Our only connection is here, in America, not Africa. That doesn't mean we can't ally ourselves with Africans and build with one another, but we have to respect each other as well.
