this situation is different, since the kickstarter was announced at a Sony event. it's also the sequel to a AAA game
I'm far from "outraged" but the situation is kind of awkward. kickstarter is usually for these kind of homegrown, 'started from the bottom' projects. I think the 'elephant in the room' is Sega. it's really their game. he might have needed to raise this money to basically buy them out
Sony announced it because if it hit 2 million they would help fund it and it was great PR. Its not that hard a concept to grasp.
Other than that the situation isnt different at all. The fake outrage is hilarious.
A fan of the series would be happy we are getting another, not crying about all the financial details. The game is coming, who gives a fukk about what percentage sony gives.
But I guess fanboy wars trumps getting a game you like (not you specifically).
What all this fake outrage boils down to is some microsoft stans that are salty that they thought e3 was going to be all xbox and sony stole the show and the internet went nuts over it.
Im happy I get to see shenmue 3. A series dead for 14 years and a game nobody thought could happen. If microsoft gave yu syzuki 50 million dollars and made it exclusive id go cop an xbox one today.
