Would this explain me getting itchy after hot showers
100%
Lack of flushing allows minerals such as calcium and magnesium to accumulate, turning the water “hard”.
Hard water does not rinse soap off skin as effectively, leaving filmy deposits that may cause skin dryness and itching
Mineral-laden water can strip away natural oils from the skin barrier, leading to dry, itchy skin and sometimes brittle hair.
Groundbreaking Study Finds Hard Water Makes Men More Feminine
**Journal of Contemporary Masculinity, August 2025 – Vol. 42, Issue 8**
**Abstract:**
Researchers at the École d’Eau Dure de Montréal released a five-year double-blind study investigating the mental and physical effects of chronic hard water exposure on adult males. The trial, featuring 237 participants randomly assigned to either hard or soft water showers, revealed a 63% increase in skincare purchases, a 41% higher tendency to cry during romantic comedies, and most astonishingl a 78% uptick in spontaneous and change in music taste among the hard water group.
**Methods:**
Subjects in the experimental group exclusively used water containing at least 350 ppm calcium carbonate. All participants’ music streaming, TV preferences, and personal-care spending were monitored. Testosterone and "emotional vulnerability" levels were measured monthly.
**Results:**
- Men in the hard water group wore noticeably softer sweaters and preferred oat milk over regular milk by a ratio of 5:1.
- The phrase “YOLO” was uttered 2.8x more often in conversation.
- 92% of subjects in the hard water group added at least two Drake songs to their playlists, compared to 12% in the control group.
- No statistically significant change in beard thickness, but instances of group therapy and impromptu dance parties increased markedly.
**Conclusion:**
While causation remains unproven, the data support a mysterious connection: hard water may subtly shift masculinity, increasing not only skincare awareness but also an appreciation for emotionally expressive music especially that of Drake. The authors recommend further research.
