Plumber here 🙋🏽‍♂️
flush a tank heater (like the vid) every 2-5 years
Same with tankless. Dont listen to these sales men parading as plumbers. If u flush too often it weakens components and outer shell from constant depressurization, the seems will leak.
if u want to flush your own tankless buy a transfer pump off amazon and use vinegar.
bottom line it DOES prolong life but every year (and especially twice a year) ia too much.
they just want u to hire them to do it

So why are people saying tankless don’t need to do it in this thread?

Also do you have any stories to share about a female customer needing plumbing help and you ended up in bed with her?

Bc they not in the business. Every owners manual will tell u how and when to do it. Nobody ever does tho. When they do it’s bc they waited to long and the heat exchanger is failing.
all u need is a transfer pump, two short hoses, vinegar and a bucket

yes I have a few but after a cpl of occasions it’s clear that money >>>>> some strange

Yeah during a hurricane I stayed at my homeboy house and you could smell the bacteria built up. He had an old ass Florida home living with like three heauxs to save money on rent on some three's company shyt. Anyway, soon as you stepped in the shower you could smell that shyt built up. Hard water all in the toilet and shyt. He said the HVAC dude not coming until the after the storm. I should've charged him but I went down there and flushed that shyt out before the storm hit.

Got a 20 year old heater in my place and don't know what the maintenance was like. 99% likely to go tankless next year and treat it good from the jump.

We bought a new water heater when we bought the house in 2019. I dump the water heater water last year and
I had a water conditioner in Tampa because our water was crazy hard. Here in Atlanta, it’s not as hard but I wish I still had my system.

U got it. Just use your resources and get some tools.
Everyone forgets the water heater and hvac system til it breaks. Then it’s an emergency. If u ain’t got the fortitude to atleast TRY to fix it  we’re coming for the college fund.

I put vinegar down my HVAC drain lines last year. Do a biannual AC check that happened to be done June 10th and I came back to a broken AC and water damage to my floor that went downstairs.

People say funny things happen when your home is vacant for longer than a month.

Water damage likely from the evaporator drain. Condensate line blocked or iced system?.

Man I don’t know what to think right now. My drain pan is full though so I’m thinking the system got iced. We had this problem last year and it ended up being a blower motor. My condensation lines should be clear. I pour vinegar down them last year.

Why would I have a shytload of water coming from my return air vent? My system is 8 years old I think.
