I remember Jay Z saying something to the effect of "oh you'd think I would vote republican because of taxes or whatever"...which just shows me that these dudes really don't know a damn thing about politics. All they think about is taxes...and nothing else.

It would be interesting to see if there were any patterns in which rappers leaned left or right in their voting patterns. So far I can think of LL, 50 Cent, Scarface, Big Boi (libertarian,) and KRS-One (libertarian) as rappers who have voted for right-leaning politicians.

Most blavk people in general arent extra liberal... if asked they r Christian, conservative, and right leaning.

These people are wealthy so they can actually vote gop without feeling the effects of fake trickle down bootstrap politics. If the majority of black people were upper middle class...

The Gop would have more black people, more black favored policies, and dems party would vanish.

The majority of black people are not motivated to exercise their right to vote, and most just vote party line anyway. Most vote in aline with a poverty mentality of this party cares about us and the gop doesn't....

Not like the democratic party has stepped up to aid us in employment education health insurance or public safety

They listen to the concerns of whites gays and women show them empathy then tell black folks to worry about "black on black crime" and get out they face.

Personally the move should be having a agenda and whatever party ready to really be concerned with them and willing to put stock into those issues we vote that party.

Right now all we get is some Crack head white politician clapping in a church choir giving us some speech rooted in guilt about our ancestors marching for the right to vote and we just go vote for the Democrats based on stigma and familiarity. Changes need to be made

exactly, this whole thing of using a standard of "what have they done for us" leads to an intellectual and economic dead end, basically it allows politicians to throw some bones at us and get our allegiance

politics is important but its a mistake to make politics the main strategy of improving black lives, the main strategy should be through business
