If we spent our money at places where employees were treated good, Walmart would be out of business. We the consumers are the ones making them all that money because shyt at Walmart is so cheap.....which of course they can sell so cheap because they don't pay the employees :francis:

I had friends growing up that flat out wouldn't shop at Walmart because of how they treated the workers. Looking back, I think they were onto something.

And The type of people willing to work at Walmart are those who don't know their worth, don't wanna hustle and allow their employer to treat them like garbage.....which it seems like more and more companies are trying to do....follow that "Walmart model"....pay as little as possible to your employees and if they don't like it? There's 20 other schmucks waiting to work 80 hours a week with no benefits and a 7 minute lunch break every other day. SMH
that is not why they can sell the cheapest. They have economies of scale. They're paying pennies per item.

i worked at sams club right out of high school. i was hired as a cart pusher which was easy. then winter came and they needed shop workers to change tires. for some reason, they moved me to the shop to help out in which i didnt mind. i thought it was gonna be like a day or two. motherfukkers was trynna keep me there for two weeks and i already was getting paid minimum wage. i told em pay me like a shop worker and ill do it, assistant manager was trynna play me and said i had no choice and wasnt going to get paid the extra. walked straight to hr and told em cut the check im out :camby:

i did like the free sodas tho :ehh:
That's wrong man and a horrible business practice they have. Thanks for sharing your story. We need to boycott these types of businesses.

About that, my parents tried to get me to get a job a Wal-Mart a few years back. I did the test and everything. TBH, I was so glad that they didn't hire me. It was like a blessing in disguise. I did later find a job though. Now, I plan to do firewatching and go to school at night. I don't down the people who need to put food on the table. However, Wal Mart treats their workers like shyt.

If publix pays $15 + benefits to all hourly employees

And Walmart pays $8 and no benefits to hourly employees.

You don't think that's part of the reason Walmart can sell products cheaper?

Sure they had some innovations with supply chain and logistics when they first blew up, but the lack of benefits and low employee pay has always helped their bottom line and increase profits.

Increased profits allowed them to expand. Expanding to become the biggest retailer allowed them to bully suppliers into charging them less via economies of scale like you said.

But the whole thing doesn't work if their employees were being compensated at a fair rate to begin with.

Hell they probably let them get away with more shyt than other jobs.

Walmart employees are lazy as fucc
Deflect from the topic and use straw-mans.

Yea I don't shyt on anyone just cuz of where they work but I don't know how you could wake up everyday and work at Walmart and not feel like "damn I know I'm supposed to be doing something better with my life".

That doesn't mean anything. I knew people at my first job that worked there 10+ years and was treated like shyt. Made it 6 months before I left. It wasn't Wal Mart btw lol.

I got that feeling at my last two jobs and left. My goal is going back to school. For some people it's hard to just make that switch. One girl that worked at Wal-Mart was pregnant. This was in December when I went there. My mother talked to her because the girl was pissed. So, I understand it may be hard to make the switch.
