Random question man...if Drake was this big on numbers, why didn't the industry do these record breaking concerts with him?
Drake probably could've done a stadium tour a few years ago at the peak of his career.
I really don't know why kendrick is the first rapper to attempt something like this. Alot of people said it's because hip hop doesn't sound good live in a stadium but kendrick is proving that isn't the case.
I feel like stadium shows take a different type of stage presence that most rappers don't have. Most rapper's are just flat out lazy and don't wanna take the effort to set up a spectacle on that level. Most rappers nowadays are in the back getting faded before coming on stage to mumble along to a backtrack, barely knowing the words to their own song.
Drake probably never wanted to put the effort into a high production studio tour.
Look at a Drake performance, it's mostly just him walking around on stage rapping.
Compare it to a show by someone like Kendrick or weeknd where they'll have themes, choreographed dancers, interludes, dynamic stages, etc to make it feel like a story being told through performance.
