They honestly thought he was just a local rapper though, that part wasn't disrespectful. Maybe the "Drake is better" comment, I suppose. I can understand Wale not knowing their shtick, but it's been a running joke all year that the two of them (along with another announcer named Jack) are so far out of touch with today's pop culture.
