Not a fan of The Whale at all. I will give this dude a final listen to see if he is as mediocre as I think he is. Stay tuned…

yeah this is dope....feel like social media was such a deterrent for wale's career, he couldnt stop getting in his own way with his garbage personality but the majority of his catalog is fire :yeshrug:
He is the Kyrie Irving of rap. I can’t think of a better hoops-to-rap comparison. He is as skilled a rapper as there has ever been but as soon as his name is mentioned eyes roll because of his personality. I believe his heart is in the right place most times but something about him people just can’t stand.

But if we’re just talking rap skills, dude has tier 1 talent

A song like “88” or “New Balances” can’t be duplicated by 99% of rappers.

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
First Folarin was an underrated classic:wow:

His 1,2,3, mixtape album punch from More About Nothing, 11-1-11 Theory to Folarin.... that stretch was amazing.

Due to the content and variety of the material in those tapes... may be some of my favorite mixtapes ever.

On top of that, during that span, he arguably released his three best albums as well (Ambition, Gifted, Album Aboot Nothing)

2011-2015 Wale, artistry wise, could be up there with the greatest of rappers to do it.

His music stayed in the Fairlady Z for ya boy. haha.

Btw, side note... on the 5th track on Flo 2 and this might be some of his best music since that era.

This is a great 1/3 of his album i'm hearing... if the rest sounds like this, it's going in the ipod asap.

Wale was at his best when he was a backpack rapper. Dude has become generic as hell with the woat delivery/voice. MMG gave him the commercial spark but in actuality music wise he peaked at More About Nothing.

undue arrogance …. mainly in the beginning, but really it was just the meek mill mmg daily competition he was dealing with….
