this is why this era of hiphop is suspect at best. they are not descriptive enough. they throw out buzz words that you've heard the last guy say, you dont know if he's talking about a legit specific situation or just throwing out some stuff. ross does that all the time. the probably i have with him, is the dude can actually Rap unlike these other new breed rappers. ross REFUSES to rap for real even on songs like this. because he's so caught up in his own persona. of say the generic get rich nonsense and that will do. sure he's famous. but how well are those albums selling? not that well in comparison to his star status. i would love to get rick on one of my songs. i would turn that fools verse back in to him and tell him "Ross you gone have to come tighter then this breh. i know you got some heat in there some where hidden in that belly or beard. find it and get back at me when you got that new verse.'
would you call old man kool g rap a conscious rapper? probably not. but he was a very descriptive rapper. you couldnt get away with just reading off oa few words and that be that.
