Fam....

I'm not the biggest Drake fan in the world so objectively speaking

His music cross over well

Woman and men (of all races) love it

And since 2008 he's created and been featured on a lot of hit records

He makes hit records

And his second album will help define a generation
Oh yeah he definitely successful but success doesn't necessarily mean the music is great. I'm not a drake hater shyt I used to fukk with all his music for the most part..

I had just used drake personality as an example cuz he the biggest rapper in the game so if ppl can look past his personality why not wale's?

he gets at cudi too

idk how i feel about these... not diss tracks... "i'm not mad, i'm just disappointed" records...

I like them because they're more reflective of where the genre is.....No one is really beefing or dying anymore on some Bad Boy vs Death Row shyt. Wale and Cole have a mutual respect for each other's crafts and Cole said what most people think.

all things considered, It's easy to criticize when you've been set up to win your entire career.

And NO, that's not me saying Cole had it easy or was an industry plant so ya'll can toss that out the window right now.. Cole had to work his way into the position he's in like everyone else..

And let's be real, J. Cole has never been Kendrick. He doesn't get unanimous acclaim, if anything he gets fair to average acclaim from critics.. but one thing J. Cole does have and clearly judging from album sells, he's had it from day one.. is support. Fan support, label support, etc. Wale has never had that, especially on a Cole level.

Cole was set up to win from day 1, he's never faced the type of adversity and scrutiny that Wale has..

It's easy to tell someone to stop complaining when you're going triple platinum and selling out arenas. Meanwhile the person you're telling to stop complaining is battling label heads to even get a project out, receiving zero support and on top of that being scrutinized and poked at by fans and critics alike.

shyts like Lebron telling Demarcus Cousins to stop complaining and be happy he's in the NBA doing what he loves to do, completely dismissing the fact that his team is a laughing stock and completely undermining his skill by failing to put quality pieces around him and setting him up for success... and on top of that, is constantly being talked down upon by analysts for everything but what he's being paid to do, which is play basketball. Meanwhile, you're a multiple time mvp and NBA champion

It's like bruh, your situation is not mine. fukk outta here..

I wanted him to go at J. Cole but this isn't that type of song and apparently it's not that type of situation. It's a good song for what it is I guess.

Not to mention his body of work is inconsistent

J Cole's mixtape catalog > his album discography

His last album is his most complete album and I don't think it's better than TABN or Ambition

The seperatuon between the two clearly isn't talent or skill (we all have our opinions about who we think is better etc etc) it's clearly other variables

Wale took after things fell through with Interscope but to some degree the Interscope debacle set him back
