Not to mention his body of work is inconsistent

J Cole's mixtape catalog > his album discography

His last album is his most complete album and I don't think it's better than TABN or Ambition

The seperatuon between the two clearly isn't talent or skill (we all have our opinions about who we think is better etc etc) it's clearly other variables

Wale took after things fell through with Interscope but to some degree the Interscope debacle set him back

You're discounting all of the work that Cole puts in with his fans. It's not a surprise that after he launched the dollar and a dream tour his career finally went to that next level. Cole works his ass off to connect with his fans, touring all over the US with $1 tickets shows playing mixtapes.

shyt he invited his fans into his childhood home to get a first listen to the album. Went round to a random fans house and let them listen to the album. Walked the streets giving random fans a chance to listen to new shyt.

Yeah you can call it a gimmick but Coles actually out there showing respect and love to all of his fans and as a result they're eating it up and becoming more invested than ever.

I'm a big Wale fan, even own physicals of his albums, but Cole is basically saying fukk what the critics say (Coles been getting blasted by critics and heads since day one as well), focus on your actual fans and build from there. Don't give any energy to people who don't fukk with your music.

shyt was nice.
I wish they rapped over beats like this for their albums :mjcry:
Yeah I think Wale needs to up the tempo and delivery on his next project. Might be spending too much time out in Cali. The mixtape was nice but it's time to take it to another level. For the record, I thought TAAN was a 9/10 and the second best project of last year

1) It's Better This Way - KRIT
2) The Album About Nothing - Wale
3a) Deeply Rooted - Scarface
3b) Black Dollar -Renzel
