I thought rappers were supposed to be cocky for no reason. I dont wanna live in a world where a fat Black kid with a lazy eye cant be King of New York.
It's a problem when you spend you career failing miserably to back up your cockiness.
When I say cocky, I'm not talking about cocky like Kobe Bryant or cocky like any normal rapper.
I'm talking about cockier than the the cockiest rapper of all times, 50 in his prime (who was selling the most, dropping classic, knocking of decade long records like nothing, had the streets, mainstream after really coming from the bottom) and after 2 years the streets was not feeling the cockiness anymore.
You hate on Papoose but like Wale? You realize that Wale can't make a hit without a guest feature right? Dude is lame!!

I don't hate Papoose, never talk about him or post in his threads. I don't say hateful shyt about him until now because I got into a discussion regarding him.
I also said that I didn't fukk with Wale and I don't know how the fukk features on hits and lameness is correlated.
Anyways his two most viewed videos on youtube is one featuring some completely unknown girl of the streets and the other one is solo.
He's lame because he argues via twitter. Everyone is not gonna like you but you dont gotta be a lame and hop on twitter for everything and he can't make a hit song by himself
I don't know many rappers who can make a hit song by themselves, Wale likes those R&B inspired type of singles and he can't sing. So he gets singers.
No matter if it's Miguel or completely unknown people, they do well. So it's obviously his craft that's taking them their.
As far as arguing on twitter, I can't fukk with that. I think it's all lame, but if someone takes shots at you on twitter, you're most welcome to respond.
If someone takes shots at you on songs, real life etc, you should respond accordingly.
Does this same kind of logic apply to somebody like Jay-Z or Kanye?

Yes it does.
But they are still respectful, they've got cocky rhymes (which is welcomed, specially if you're talking about shyt you really do), but respectful to other people and respectful in the interviews (except Kanye's latest shyt, he's lost his mind or acting like he has and people are not feeling it). And obviously they back it up.
You can't talk like Floyd Mayweather if you had 40+ straight losses, instead of 40+ straight wins.
Wale don't seem so bad to me
...u can say he's overconfident for his skills and may take shyt to serious but it shouldn't bother some of y'all as much as it does....why this nikka need to humble himself to make y'all comfortable? Specially when his music seems to be pretty humble....dude takes himself serious as an artist ain't that what y'all want?..
And that Gifted album was average,not horrible but not great,just listenable for me....id say he got potential but all that little "cute shyt he try to do with his flow,throwing his flow and shyt takes away from what he do and can get annoying....he'd be better off keepin it simple imo.
