Have you not listened to ANY radio in the past month or so? Wale's "Bad" (both versions) gets play every hour on the hour.
And it peaked at #21 on the Hot 100...
You dudes LOVE throwing out "no buzz", "no promo", and "no big singles" when those album numbers don't live up to the hype.
Well, I seriously never listen to the radio, breh. After college, I haven't lived in big cities so got used to using my ipod or cds
but that is true -- he does have a top 20 hit and is doing interviews/concert rounds for promo but i mean he doenst have a huge buzz like Yeezy and Hov has now.
People are going that crazy over this release...I feel like his fanbase is supporting i.e. how people were surprised by kid cudi's first week sales

As if any rapper is about to put out like 3 #1 singles back to back. As if pop sales even follow the same trends as rap sales. Rihanna goes platinum with every release despite average to low first week sales because those big singles don't stop.

Um... Wale is on projection to do LESS in his first week than his last album... and "Bad" was a bigger single than "Lotus Flower Bomb".
Meanwhile... Cole had a lower charting single on Born Sinner than he did with Cole World. Yet did almost 75k more first week.
Y'all got to come out of those shells, man.
The Ambition joint dropped at the height of the MMG wave, so maybe Ambition was a little artificially inflated in terms of sales because of it. Either way, these numbers are solid, the album is fantastic and it's being very well received critically. nikka deserves to be applauded really.
Also, this joint could have legs if that Clappers joint is a smash.

cole benefitted greatly from the "vs. or same week as kanye" thing. its almost like younger consumers waged a mini war against a bit older consumers in support. 300k is alot for j. cole or wale.
and like alot of temporarily inspired young people, looks like theyre losing focus the very next week. i know some thought it would be good to "keep it going" this week, but i personally thought wale should have been two weeks removed from the "big head to head date." between people that spent money on one or both of those albums, money flow, digesting all the music and the ones that wanna know "why cole sold so much? i wanna get on the wagon" and grab it this week....lotta good could have come out of a good buyer exhale
