Anybody not a Wale fan have anything to say about the album? I just haven't been able to get on board with anything since 11 1 11 but I hear good things about this.

Yup. Hated Ambition, this is the 2nd Wale project I've listened to and I think it's fantastic.

The Gifted has classic Wale songs and production

Ambition is not touching The Gifted, I'm sorry.

What are the best songs on The Gifted? I've only listened to a couple, Simple Man is cool, Bricks was alright, and I didn't like Gullible.

Didn't realize Wale was so heavily Tupac influenced as well. Simple Man's hook is straight out of How Do U Want It and the Pessimist has him following Pac and then Ludacris's lead.

didn't like it. wale has talent, but it just seems out of his peers he is the least creative and innovative. he follows a lyrical formula of trying to be overtly witty and complex and it just sounds corny. his beat selection is hit and miss. he just isn't consistent and the seinfeld features were corny.

Drake's Worst Behavior was inspired by Heaven's Afternoon

Then he had some dope singles like LoveHate Thing and Bad. It's not even just the individual songs it's how they flowed with how he sequenced them. People talk shyt about Clappers and Rotation, but those songs were cool and he was just having fun with Clappers... sounded like some of his old mixtape stuff.

he tried... but he's still going right over heads with that mumble flow. And I could really do without the singing, other than that solid album for what its worth. And I mean musically solid but honestly I can give a few stand out bars that is really me just being generous because I cant understand him half the time nowadays. Or maybe its that its not compelling and charismatic enough for me to try
yeah he use to spit some raw bars and lyrics and while he had some clever lines, I expected a little bit more "rapping" on this album.

Half way into the album.... I'm definitely digging the album so far. Great to see artists get better and more mature with their content and versatility.

He has like three or four hits within the first 7 tracks or so.

Very enjoyable listen. He's more lyrical than Drake and has better content. Makes better tracks than Kendrick.
