Never have I seen a brand new store’s parking lot turn to shyt faster than a Wal-mart. Within the first year that shyt be having oil stains, abandoned vehicles, broke buggies, month old baby diapers, and meth needles erywhere...

If Walmart fails that means that small businesses will fill the void. The idea of an inflationary reaction isn’t realistic. Local businesss will mean real fukking wages in the hands of real people.

Small businesses =/ black businesses. The major corporations are the only ones being pressured to hire minorities. Small Asian, Hispanic, Indian, White owned business aren't going to hire black people in the same number that major companies like Walmart will. Most of the small business offer overpriced products because they don't have the scales needed to offer affordable products to struggling people. Walmart jobs include the truckers, the mechanics, the loaders working night shift, not just the people working in the stores. Small business family owned business aren't going to fill that void.

The issue at hand if I understand correctly is that companies like Wal Mart and Amazon do so much volume that they price out small businesses because the volume they do allows them to make suppliers get them whatever they want. The retail industry is shifting online anyways more and more, and Small businesses cant fill that void, and not many Americans are "moral" shoppers.

Wal-Mart is taking proactive steps to make themselves competitive in the future. In Houston they closed down several Sam's club to either convert them to Distribution Centers or prevent canibalization from multiple business units. I think converting Sam's Clubs into DC is a fantastic idea. Many business owners don't have time to physically drive to Sam's and many of them rather get it through delivery. Also most companies (big and small) are switching to a Just-In-Time principle. This makes buying in bulk obsolete since they want to buy the exact amount throughout the week.
