But is 34 to old? I have a wife and 3 year old son. Wanting to do either navy or air force which is better? I either wanna do 3 years or the next option. Whatever one I choose I need an idea for not a backbreaking career I can transform into civilian life. I'm in a firesprinkler union and it's tearing my body apart....

I thought the age limit was 26 to enlist unless you have a degree then it's like mid-30s and you'd end up doing JAG or being a doctor or some other high skilled profession as a commissioned officer .

If you're going navy do nuclear engineering. I don't know anything about it but it just sounds badass

Age limit for Navy is 32 I believe but there might be other branches and there are waivers.

Google it then go talk to a recruiter:yeshrug:

I want to go back to a military surrounding but as a contractor only.

:mjlol:

You got to reach pretty high asvab to be a nuke and the job sucks.. Trust me, them dudes stay miserable

Not sure what the pay on the outside is though. But that dhit is not fun. Staying on a submarine and on deployment, sharing your rack with another nikka, 20 hr days, etc.

Unless you were a jtac/pj/deal I highly doubt active component will allow you back in Now the guard may have something for you what is your Re code on your 214 what was your afsc/rate when you left and are you a cyber background guy that can help you also.

At this point in your life you aren’t a priority recruit so some recruiters may be willing to work with you but most I’ll just place you on the back burner until they have a slow month.
