Are they going to protect their value and image and Ban "Thot Rap" or cognitive dissonance???

She was a queen and young Black people of that time should have listened to her instead of shytting on her, including Pac

Hate to break it to you but she was just a hustler.

She was going at Death Row/gangsta rap/Pac so hard because she wanted to distribute Death Row music through Time Warner, where she owned a gang of stock:

THE MEDIA BUSINESS; Label Tied To Time Warner Sues a Critic of Rap Lyrics

Ms. Tucker acknowledged yesterday that she had met with Mr. Knight in Seattle in July and talked to him several times afterward about setting up a new distribution deal with Time Warner. But Ms. Tucker said she was not aware that these talks violated Mr. Knight's contract.

Ms. Tucker said that she had broached the idea of setting up a new distribution deal with senior Time Warner executives. Mr. Fuchs traveled from New York to Los Angeles on Aug. 7 to meet with Mr. Knight and Dionne Warwick, the singer, who was acting as Ms. Tucker's representative.

Mr. Knight's lawyer, David Kenner, said his client did not attend that meeting because it was clear that Mr. Fuchs and Ms. Warwick were seeking to entice him out of his contract with Interscope.

Mr. Kenner said Mr. Knight also walked out of the meeting in Seattle with Ms. Tucker as soon as she raised the issue of negotiating a separate distribution agreement with Time Warner.

Then on top of that she tried to sue Pac posthumously, claiming his lyrics ruined her sex life:

Rap critic sues Shakur's estate for defamation

Tucker, in a lawsuit filed this week in Philadelphia federal court, contends that Tupac Shakur’s estate should pay her $10 million because lyrics on a 1996 album made derogatory references to her. Among other things, the lawsuit says, the anguish caused by those lyrics cut down on her sex life with her husband.

So....yeah. You can agree with her message but she was crooked as fukk and had ulterior motives.

Fred.

Rap has a duality that is more and more evident in this current climate we live in. I definitely think a song like WAP has a place in hip-hop and any other year it would probably feel more ok but 2020 has changed prospectives for a lot of people.

A significant amount of black people are trying to lift the collective conscious of the community while a lot of entertainers basically divert the attention of the community to things that just don’t matter or serve no good long term.

Is partying, sex, drugs and gangsta sh!t all we about?

Just 2/3 months ago, it felt completely different.

the most comical part of all this is how nikkas right here on this very forum praise male rappers for some of the most vile shyt but when women make songs about what they desire, we start drawing lines and handwringing.

:mjlol:

Yes, becuz Camron’s “suck it or not” is such a poetic ballad.

When will Black men begin to denounce Kodak, NBA Youngboy, Bobby Shmurda, and all of the rappers that glorify trapping, multiple female sex partners, murder, etc.?
:gucci:

Degeneracy runs through Hip hop. There are more obscene songs than this dating back to the 80s. This isn’t breaking new ground in anyway so I really don’t understand the pearl clutching. Anyone who isn’t a hypocrite would have seen Rap was a problem a long time ago.

There was just a thread last week with some of y’all crying over one of those gangbangers.
:beli:
Its females that support them the most though

Yeah I knew she had ulterior motives...I was just using her as an example of these women having cognitive dissonance when it comes to toxicity. Women that praises(d) her, will they have the same energy for "Thot Rap"?

....
The people will scatter in madness. They will hear the trumpet and battle-cry of the DESTROYER and will seek refuge within dens in the Earth. Terror will eat away their hearts, and their courage will flow from them like water from a broken pitcher. They will be eaten up in the flames of wrath and consumed by the breath of the DESTROYER.
... Men will fly in the air as birds and swim in the seas as fishes ... Women will be as men and men as women, passion will be a plaything of man.
... Then will the Heavens tremble and the Earth move ... Heralds of Doom will appear ... THE HOUR OF THE DESTROYER IS AT HAND.

Let them party like it's 1999, they're too far gone for saving anyway.:ld:
Sounds like the quote is describing killer robots.
