It's like most things when being black: there is no room for mistakes or errors. If you fukk up you gone. No one seems potential in you, no one is patient with you.

Another thing that's not talked about much: black coaches are very unlikely to get along with old cac boosters. Some coaches are born to wine and dine boosters. Drink a little bourbon, give them some "secret" insight into the team or tell a story about the time they coached a future NFL Pro Bowler, etc. Mack Brown, guys like that live for that shyt. But that's an alien environment for many black coaches, so the boosters aren't impressed or they catch feelings.

That's why I like seeing black coaches (or white coaches) who bring in black assistants. Even if it's an RB coaching job. You gotta get your foot in the door because most coaches out here hiring any white man who looks the part.

I wish more black players would become graduate assistants.

If the families of these highly sought after recruits would steer their sons towards schools with black head coaches we'd see the hiring rates sky rocket. Charlie Strong should be turning down recruits because Texas is out of scholarships to offer. I'd be damned if I sent my kid to play for some retread white coach.

Word both Charlie strong, and Kevin Sumlin would be the only choices for my son, if he was playing football.

Football is in the grand scheme of things, a good ol' boys club. It's insane that a guy like Ty Willingham isn't coaching right now. Black coaches have no leash and no room for error, Hell most Black head coaches are hired to either shyt programs, or to programs that have fallen from grace, they fix up the team and are summarily given the boot. It's kind of the same pattern in the NFL.

He left ECU the same way and it took Ruffin McNeill a couple of years to get it decent again. We actually have people in our fanbase that want Skip back. He left ECU for USF two weeks before signing day.
