I wonder if this movie will continue from Rise/Dawn by having all human characters dumb and make a wrong choice everytime. For real, the decision-making in those movies by adults are on par with 6 year olds.

I think the reason for that even though it's not a great reason, is because we know where everything has to end. And planet of the apes implies stupidity and paranoia led to our demise

I'm all for stupid people being stupid. Yes, humans sometimes do stupid shyt but what James Franco's character does in the first movie breaks all suspension of disbelief. He's painted as a great scientist but given his decision-making skills he'd be a high school dropout at best. He steals a genetically altered chimp to raise it (and takes it out for a walk!) at the same time his father suffers from dementia. He does this for 3 years!
