That’s an Engineer as well, asked to work 7 days a week 10+ hour shifts.

Sounds like a lovely company.

Additionally, remember we here in Cali have State Tax on top of Federal tax. So it’s more like under $30k/year. Throw benefits on top of that and those paychecks were shyt.

It’s recommended to make about $70k (after taxes) to comfortably live in LA by yourself because price of everything is expensive. Ontario is a little to the east of LA, but gets OC prices for everyday purchases. $24/hour should be more appropriate for the location.

24/hour ain't enough either unless you plan to live with roommates/family.

It appears the “accused” arsonist has an Islamic name. Do what you want with that.

I keep seeing "find another job" in here. What country are you all currently living in? :mjlol:

I agree it was stupid to burn the warehouse but it's 2026 not 2015. Folks aren't hiring. Average employee is stuck where they are at. Which is a perfect recipe for pissed off and miserable employees.

Thankfully most folks just start slacking in their work instead of burning shyt down. :dead:

Turnover helps some of these businesses because they dog their employees. You remove turnover you end up with a bunch of pissed folks who don't wanna be there. :jbhmm:

Again for reactive folks who lack comprehension, burning the building down is not the answer. But just saying "go get a new job" is nearly as crazy in these economic times.

Paying just a few more dollars per hour would've probably attracted non-arsonists. No sympathy from me when you cheap out on workers. If they cheaped out on salary, they probably did the same on background checks.
:yeshrug:

This. It’s a lot of cowards that post here and people are just weak in general collectively speaking. Dude had the right energy but the wrong plan/execution.

I wasn't working at Walmart for fun. Hell my 2nd job had a lot of dirty labor too for $15/hr. Some bad days, but good days where I took it in stride and did my job without complaints.

To be honest, even if they made $30/hr it still wouldn't be enough for California. A lot of people making 6 figures are leaving the state.

If im in that position Im looking to learn a marketable skill and leave the state. Something like that doesnt happen overnight sure, but its worth it in the end because you're in a better place compared to people who make no real attempts at bettering themselves.

It’s almost like the policies of a place like California have something to do with raising the cost of living :jbhmm:

Leaving the state costs lots of money. Getting skills in trades costs lots of money and time that’s hard to balance the needs of a full time job for especially if you’re working two jobs to support yourself.

Higher education costs lots of money and time. All the prices of basic goods and living expenses are drastically inflated but wages haven’t grown at nearly the same rate.

I work in recruiting in every major time zone in the planet, the cost of living is just too high for most jobs under 18/HR. You’re taking minimum wage when we should have a basic living wage.

Since when was anything in life easy, especially these days? No shyt school costs and living is high. You're preaching to the choir.

Either get to it or keep suffering. Those are the options.
