Rumor has it, the saudis are going to be apart of the purchase WB via comcast. Keep a look out.
Anything to stop it from being Ellison/Paramount or Netflix
Rumors are the saudis are with Paramount/Ellison.

Comcast tried to get the saudis with them but they didnt believe it would go thru
The Saudis do not have "any incentive" to join a prospective Comcast bid for Warner Bros. (excluding WBD's linear TV networks) because their understanding is that "the Trump administration doesn't like Comcast CEO Brian Roberts at all," the source said.

It's in the link i posted above. Who knows all this could be PR spin :manny:

Can't say I'm surprised to see the Ellisons getting Saudi involved once Comcast and Netflix got the banks involved in their respective bids :francis:

Word is that Comcast will probably have it the hardest as Trump don't like Brian Roberts and Netflix will be in hell for antitrust issues if they get WB. The only way for Netflix to possibly prevent themselves running into that issue is that have to hand over the streaming side of WB to Discovery and pray that's all they have to do to get WB.

Practically, the Ellisons made sure it goes into their favor by any means necessary :francis:

That context sets up the second WSJ report, which focuses on the financing. The Journal confirms that PSKY’s bid remains majority cash, fully backed by the Ellison family and RedBird. Gallagher’s analysis argued that Ellison effectively has the deepest pockets in the race, and the financing story supports that conclusion. WSJ also provides the first credible clarity about the Middle East narrative. PSKY has held preliminary conversations with Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and other sovereign wealth funds, but these talks relate only to possible post close co investment. They are not part of the bid itself. This directly undercuts the idea that Gulf capital is underwriting the offer. The bid that will be submitted this week is domestic, majority cash, and Ellison led.

So basically Saudi money will come in after the deal closes. Probably purposely done this way to avoid the bad PR it may cause to have them involved before Parmount wins the bid.

Which makes sense in how Brian Roberts of Comcast went to Saudi Arabia. He probably caught wind of what David was trying to do and was trying balance the playing field. It still led to bad PR as analysis and politicians are already mad about the PIF/Silver Lake/Affinity getting EA, so now the geopolitics is in overdrive.

The fact that there's an antitrust issue for the Netflix offer, but not one for the offer from a single family attempting to purchase and remold American media is downright farcical.

They're basically trying to scare off Netflix on getting WB. It's why I mentioned the only way to throw off the antitrust issue is to give the streaming side of WB over to Discovery, however, with the current administration they'll look for every reason to stop Netflix from getting WB.

I was against Netflix getting WB at first, but considering what's going on and if they're willing to keep the theatrical releases along with putting their own movies in theaters. Then, I'm fine with them getting WB seeing as Comcast ain't gonna stand a chance.

I would be fine with Comcast just to spite the Ellisons
