Kemp's term expires January 2027. It would make sense to run against Ossoff in 2026 as the sitting Governor. He would be the clear favorite.

You're right that he may want to run for President. I think that would be a stupid move on his part. Running for Senate is the safe bet.

Kemp is way to Southern in drawl and frankly not educated or charismatic enough to be a formidable presidential candidate. 100% agree that Senate is his best next move.

Saying it’s purple is a stretch when Republicans won state wide with ease save Walker. Trending that way but not there yet. Sensible candidates in the other side change everything.

Those stimulus did play part in it and it’d be naive to sit here and say otherwise. It also helped that his opponent was complete shyt and arguably even worse than Walker.

Not yet....Its trending that way...but people moving to GA gotta move outside of ATL

By the numbers it is purple, which is why statewide and national elections tend to be closer. The problem, which you alluded to, is the vast majority of Democrats live in Atlanta, Savannah and Columbus. Damn near near every other city is straight Republican, so Republicans still run the assembly based on districting.

And this probably won’t change because everything outside of those major cities are hick towns. Even some of the suburbs of Atl are still borderline hick towns when you get out to the edges of the cities.
