I think it's less of either. I think what you see here are a lot of Democrat leaders are very well educated and from good backgrounds and as a result have not and do not live within the struggle that many Americans face. As a result they can pinpoint issues, but don't attack it with urgency.

There is also a built in idea of decorum that comes along with being from a good background and liberal.

All of this is a long way of saying, irrespective of party ideals, until there is better representation of Americans in congress and money being removed or severely limited you're always going to see billionaires and big corporations come out ahead.
Yep I think about this a lot. But let's cut to the chase here. Most member in congress are already millionaires, they'd be potentially gutting their pockets, businesses, and industries.

But real talk, congress doesnt even proportionately reflect the general population. It's primarily all white and male. That's a limited perspective to the issues affecting metropolitan areas, despite if they come from a major city or represent a certain diversified district. Chances are if they grew up in a big city, they lived "isolated" in the well off parts of town and probably lived in gated communities.

lol too much going on with that. She's actually not viable as a presidential candidate over this shyt.
I would never put her up against Trump, you might as well just give him the 2020 reelection. She's way too polarizing. The Dems have two options imo. They either need a candidate to come more center, or they need a person with the slick likeability and traits of Obama. I think the former is more likely. Also lowkey the last couple weeks have been good for Trump, in the eyes of casual followers. Him talking down to Canada and other european countries was a good look as far as appearing tough. This whole NK situation is a good look for him....

I don't like his style at all, but from the perspective of a casual follower of politics or the average voter, he's exceeding expectations right now. 2020 is looking like a shoe in.

When she says she's not running I believe her. She's not one of those people that says they aren't running and is lying about it. I also don't see her winning a general. She's Swiss cheese outside talking about the economy. She could be a vice presidential candidate though. I think she'd be a good one because she can function as an attack dog.

:laff: .... elizabeth warren is considered the #2 most progressive senator in the country, but come here and it is stated she's not nearly progressive enough.... let that marinate for a minute... the #2 most progressive senator is not sufficiently progressive.... i'm told that america is a country yearning for a true progressive... yet, out of 100 senators, america could only muster up enough votes to elect 1 senator that is progressive enough.. and that senator isn't from new york or california, he's from vermont...

since people believe bernie is the only true progressive in the senate, who would he caucus with if he got elected potus...? that would leave NO progressives in the senate.... everyday trump's path to reelection gets easier and easier.... the right will settle for more scotus picks, but the left wants everything or nothing at all....

Nobody likes Congress man. Their approval rating is 18% for a reason.
All but 4 Dem senators voted for a 80 billion dollar military budget increase not 1 regular citizen asked for. But then want to say we can't afford single payer or free college. They really don't care what we think at all. People are finally noticing. :manny:

everybody likes their own congressmen though, that's why the same people keep getting reelected.... this isn't a debate here because i respect your position... but for me personally, i have a reason to vote dem.... i don't want trump to get anymore scotus picks... even if he's voted out in 2020 (which might not happen), he might still get more picks before then... sad that scotus picks are enough to motivate rebuplican voters but not even a consideration on the dem side...

What incentive is there to take on the billionaire class, especially in a post Trump tax cut world? At this point it's clear that while most people on BOTH SIDES claim to be interested in income inequality and "making things better for the working class" it's not particularly easy to take on the financial sector. Even the most modest of changes result in half the country screaming "socialism." We saw this with Obama and the CFPB. The CFPB secured well over a billion dollars in consumer protection cases for American citizens...yet nobody gives a fukk, except liberals I guess. And even most liberals probably don't even know that.

The Trump tax cut isn't going to be repealed anytime soon. I work in finance brehs...it's not going anywhere. The BEST hope is to get rid of the cuts for higher earners as well as the various fukkery in the bill that benefits specific types of rich people (yacht owners, private jet owners, etc).

The US economy is sitting on at least three big bubbles - the current financial debt bubble of corporations, the student loan debt bubble, and another housing bubble. One of them is going to bust in the next few years. Consumer spending is down, despite the tax cut (wink wink). And more thank likely when it busts, congress will be divided just enough to ensure no wild eyed far left solutions go through. We aren't nationalizing banks either. So...
:yeshrug:

This is a losing fight. Outside of raising taxes on the rich and maybe taxing Wall Street (good luck with that), there are no solutions in the short term. This is the new American economy brehs. No one is coming to save you. And by the time we recover from the bubble burst...automation will be here to end the working/middle class for good. It's over.
