Crashing white boy frat parties is another rite of passage. Storming onto Emory's campus and randomly walking into cac's huge mansions was infinitely entertaining.
Only took part in one but a mob of us stormed Georgetown and hit one of their house parties. Good times.

Bruv that parking lot next to that McDonald's is a jackboys dream
When I was younger there was a dude that used to sell AKs out his trunk for $800-$1000 Sat nights at the McDonald’s :/

I’m from the area but also went to school away so I had both experiences. It didn’t hit me till this thread that when I was in NC we def thought of the local ppl as strange and lame (not to mention we were athletes so had an extra layer of inherent arrogance) but it never occurred to me that Howard students would’ve thought the same about me and my friends :mjlol:

But yea, the problem is that from the teens to young college kids, none of y’all ever seen ppl that look like you but don’t “act” like you. Like “strange” style of clothes, weird slang, just the normal things us adults are used to being around different people from diff cities, but it’s a culture shock going into a store at 19 and seeing and hearing a black dude from Texas or Cali or Wisconsin with that “different is lame” or “different is the enemy” mentality I know for a fact myself and a lot of my friends had, without even knowing we had that.

It’s too much to type here, and it’s sad - but taking my mind back 20+ years to 19 and I saw the same things happen, saw something worse on Howard’s campus that would blow the internet away, there were just no phones to record it. Again, I’m saying it sad, but as a college breh, kicked out of school back to the hood breh, and back to college breh, I’ve been on all the sides.

One good thing came out of it, that situation stopped all the I’m from NY, I’m from LA, I’m from Chicago etc. cliquey shyt that was going on in the dorm at least for a couple weeks. We all grouped up against them. My boy from Atlanta got chased from one end of the yard to the other by some locals leaving the library late one night 😂. Could’ve been anywhere from 1 to 5 of em. You know how people hype shyt after the fact.

Good. Y’all from Howard now

I stayed in the East Towers. The worse we had to deal with was that bytch flooding every time there was a bad storm.

ATL, but rasied in DMV
If I went to Howard today, I'd be commuting. And it would have to be during the day. This story got me thinking about Howard Theater in the 80's, when it was a hell hole for go-go bands. My best friend during high school was the lead base player for a year or two in the early 80's for this go go band outta NW named, "The Pump Blenders", when they first started out. The band wound up on a few flyers, and even advertised on the radio a few times, but that was it. They never made it like Experience Unlimited, Rare Essence, or Trouble Funk. These three groups were the pioneers of go go, especially Trouble Funk. Most young cats from NW in the 80's can probably remember "The Pump Blenders.

I know the locals bombarded Howard University with go go back in the day. But I didn't see it, because we were to business bombarding University of Maryland with it, where most of the Blacks were from Baltimore. I know those Howard University Student from outta town tried to look down on go go like the older crew did, until Spike Lee introduced "Da Butt" by Experience Unlimited, as the original soundtrack to "School Daze". That song clearly broke the ice, especially with that girl shaking her a** in the bikini when the song first came on. I wonder what that girl is doing today, and if she tells people that was her butt in that film :ohhh:

the internet
Tf did I say all that? All I was trying to say was try to organically befriend a few people from the city, damn, lol. I know when I was in undergrad I got cool with a few black folks from the city (Chattanooga) just from being in classes and living around them in the dorm
I know what youre saying because thats exactly how extorted rappers explain checking in

I never understood that stupid hill outside the entrance of the towers. I stayed there over the summer once and junior year. Perfect spot to post up though. After that people started moving to that apartment complex over by PG mall. Was the booty wall still in action?

I remember there used to be tension between East Austin cats and UT brehs at different functions. Had to break up a fight at Gregory one time. I think this common dynamic around the country, disenfranchised locals vs uppity college kids. But yeah, never seen anything as bad as this story. Hope that kid makes it.

Nah, there’s definitely been worse in Austin.

But the roles were reversed

Do these kids not have enough foresight to know that they are beating the future doctors, lawyers, engineers, nurses etc?? Literally just plain sad

Loll you sound naive af…

While there is a problem with youth actin up in the city… I guarantee when when you get to the gist of it there was gaslighting going down on both ends…some of these college kids are hardheaded with a chip on they shoulder or think they invincible from there own arrogance especially the freshman..

Like breh said a few pages ago a lot of the shxt is being exaggerated cause that’s what thecoli does…There is definitely some disconnect between the locals and the college but that’s most college towns..

If a child is truant or has a GPA below 2.0 by the time they’re in the 9th grade they should just start sending them to prison or military school.:hubie:
naw that's too early still. kids go through a lot especially in prime teenage years. My little cousin had a 1.8 GPA in 9th and 10th grade. My aunt was panicking seeing where he was headed. She shipped his ass out to go stay with my other cousin in Dallas. she's only 30 but a little more disciplined with her shyt. long story short.. nikka bust a 3.8 his first two quarters in 11th grade. breh was just hanging with the wrong kids in DMV. a little change of scenery and some structure and mans did a complete 180. I was shocked

Lots of local nikkas are basically crabs. It ain’t even about looking down on someone it’s just common fukking sense.

If I’m a woman and I’m in class every day with men that are future lawyers, doctors, engineers, etc….. who have a stable background with lots of resources why the fukk am I going to ignore that to legit mess with a local hood nikka? Because you can play basketball and hang out all day? If you 18-22 why are you out here on the block instead of somewhere making moves for your future?

It’s also wild that the same kid gets looked at differently dependent upon the school. A black kid at Howard on student loans is looked at as some rich spoiled kid, that same kid is seen as a poor student loan minority at a PWI.
Trust a lot of Howard girls mess with the locals.
