Whole Dubs squad soft. Durant taking team friendly deals too. These dudes saving these owners millions and taking money out their own pockets AFTER they've already won titles smh

If I recall correctly Durant's deal didnt even effect their cap space, just saved the owners so more money

Smh that shyt is wack :smh:

If he’s happy with it good for him but man this shyt gonna hurt other players. How guys like Jaylen Brown and Saric gonna maximize their value when you got Klay and KD taking discounts? Pressure on them to resign for less or get crucified gonna be crazy.

Don’t like this precedent. But idk doesn’t seem to be hurting someone like Capela who you’d think this would impact.
Klay taking less ain’t forcing any player to do the same. Everybody is their own man and will make their own decision. Most people just mad they aren’t breaking up

These threads always turn out funny... all year people have been talking about the Warriors having to move Klay or Draymond at some point..

If you moved one and filled out the roster, you have the same total salary or less than if Klay signed for less.

People are just mad that this core might just stay together... talking about keeping money in the owners pockets...

The big 3 had to take a pay cut to play together. The Warriors could pay everyone the max, they just don't want to. You think Lacob would leave $50 million on the table to save Klay money?:mjpls:

No they can't. fukk the salary cap huh? :skip:

Next Summer with Klay off the books, they are at 86 million in committed salary. If Klay takes this deal that will put them at 110 roughly with him, Steph, Draymond, Iggy, and Livingston being the only dudes on the roster.

Cap for next season is 101 mill with 121 for the luxury line by the way.

Quality of life >>>>> everything else...

Everybody doesn’t prioritize the same things, yes most of us would take the money but obviously that ain’t the case for him. I don’t understand why people would be mad or feel any of way at this, that’s a thot mentality thinkin everyone should do anything for a buck because you would.

On top of the fact that being on a potential dynasty team would probably make him more money long term given his role vs goin somewhere else and potentially floppin as the man. He can’t really lose in his current situation on any level :manny:

He’s turning down 50 mil Tho:dwillhuh:

But he's already a millionaire. To broke nikkaz like us that's a lot, but once you reach a certain level, if you can make millions without a lot of stress (like Klay), some don't turn that down for more stress and not being happy all the time folk.

It’s about bargaining power. Little different in the nba with max deals but a star taking less weakens the position of everybody else when they have to negotiate their deal.

Ultimately it’s probably not a huge deal with how the nba is structured but I don’t like how it feeds into the idea that players should have loyalty to franchises and take less to win.

But he's already a millionaire. To broke nikkaz like us that's a lot, but once you reach a certain level, if you can make millions without a lot of stress (like Klay), some don't turn that down for more stress and not being happy all the time folk.

That’s fair.

Two words: market correction.

Why be concerned about the market value of players who you think will be grossly overpaid?
