Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga has lost faith in Steve Kerr and no longer believes that Kerr will allow him to reach his full potential, Shams

I'm just glad he recouped the money he was about to lose in Free agency. Some team will offer him a bag
In theory I just don’t know because a lot of teams don’t got money like that. Only Brooklyn and Detroit got money and I don’t think either bites.

Untalented kid with no coaching apparently and no minutes can drop multiple 30pt games in highly contested playoff series…but definitely a bad basketball player.
:skip:
nikka played 30 mins and had 0 rebounds and 1 assist he got in the first play. He did nothing but try to score on isos the entire time

he had 30 points and the team didnt even crack 100 points
last game, the team failed to score 100 points

he's not even close to a winning player. Kerr had jimmy and steph, and was trying to WIN games, which they did. That's why he was benched. He literally cannot play next to the top 10 OAT 1st ballot hall of famer. that's on him

Kerr has changed the offense to cater to him and it's been a disaster. It's the worst offense in the playoffs these last 3 games by a large margin

Except that didn’t happen until the contract negotiations? Just a coincidence then huh? :skip:
And so he isn’t the teams anchor. That’s Steph, that’s Jimmy. He isn’t the franchise. He’s just a bucket, not the superstar. Everything you described is on the COACH to figure out with someone that’s talented. There are playoff teams that may have one person that can get you 30 in the playoffs. And they will undoubtedly be the star.

This sounds very close to the "Bron makes other superstars worse" claim. Not saying that's what it is, just similar.

Ultimately, It's on the coach to integrate players you have into a system.

Why would the warriors be willing to pay Kuminga 150/5 years if he can't play with steph and isn't a winning player?

You can say he's changed the offense for fuming, but don't blame him when steph ain't on the court AND they going against a Top 5 defense in the playoffs and the other players can't do JACK SHYT with curry on offense.

Warriors got to score points somehow because no one else can and he's at least trying to do that. Hell, Jimmy shot 9 times in the last game, and he's supposed to be the top option.

It's shill work at this point.

my guy, he turned down 5/$150 because he wanted an extra $5 million per . Who told his dumbass to do that?

Kerr DID figure it out. Kuminga was the one looking off steph multiple times per game. Kerr can't fix his decision making and overall lack of BBIQ.

Getting you 30 in the playoffs doesnt mean much. Reggie Jackson scored 30 in the playoffs, Terrence Mann scored 30 in the playoffs. If you can't be effective when playing next to HOF players, that's your fault. And that's why Kuminga wasn't played. It's not a conspiracy. He looks to score his points, and it is always out of the flow of the offense. You know, unless he has the offense catered to him, which is why the team cant hit 100 points with him playing

Kerr did. He integrated a bunch of players. Kuminga is a bad fit because he refuses to do anything but look for his own shot.

This is like saying it's Michael Malone's fault for not integrating Bones Hyland. Bones was given his chances, and he scored, but he wasnt playing within the flow of the offense, so they stopped playing him and eventually traded him.

There are countless other instances of players not fitting into what the coaches plans are. What you're essentially asking is for Kerr to overhaul his offense to cater to Kuminga. That is a losing formula

The warriors FO offered him that money because they are inept and wanna force Kuminga to be the next big thing after steph. Losing players get deals all the time, this is nothing new. The big names in the 2021 draft class that got max deals have made the playoffs and had an impact on winning. Scottie Barnes took embiid and harden to 6 games in 2023, Cade took Brunson to 6 games last round, Franz made the playoffs with Paolo 2x already, Jalen Green was the leading scorer on a 52-win 2nd seed this season, Sengun was an all-star, Trey Murphy has been to the playoffs 2x as a main contributor, evan mobley was the defensive anchor to a 64-win 1 seed, got DPOY, all defense looks, an all-star nod and made the playoffs 2x, winning 2 series already.

I'm not blaming him at all, I know this shyt is over with Kuminga at the helm. Warriors only look good with Steph and Jimmy playing together. Just one guy won't do. Kerr is showing you that Kuminga ball isn't gonna win you anything in the playoffs. it's not even gonna get you TO the playoffs. The warriors were dead in the water playing Steph with Kuminga as his 2nd option. This is the point. You're saying steph is out, but we wouldn't be playing Kuminga ball if Steph was out there. If steph was there, kuminga wouldn't be getting his points, but GSW definitely be staring down a 1-3 deficit (and remember, Kuminga didn't play much in the game they DID win). You can't have it both ways

What you're seeing is Kuminga getting his numbers without trying to get his rebounds or get his teammates involved, and the result is league-worst offense (my original point).

But this is what Warriors discourse is. No one wants to see winning ball. They wanna see players they like score the ball, even if it means losing. Don't worry about rebounds, assists, defense, nothing. Just score and lose. Play "I got mine" basketball

EDIT: game 5 finished. Kuminga did nothing but score. He had 1 rebound until the closing 2 mins of the game and was able to get 2 more. He ended with ZERO assists. He played 60+ mins between the last 2 games. He totaled 1 assist and 3 rebounds.

Kuminga being nothing but a "come off the bench and score points" without worrying about rebounding, defense, or making the right pass to his teammates is exactly what's wrong with his mentality as a player. This role is usually suited for smaller guards like Lou Will and Jamal crawford. Being a 6'7 athletic wing and being unable to defend, assist, or rebound is a complete waste. Imagine if Kawhi, Paul George, Jimmy Butler, or Andre Iguodala couldn't do anything but score out of the flow of an offensive system. Kuminga will not be one of the premiere wings in this league. He's already been lapped by the thompson twins, trey murphy, Jalen Johnson, JDub, etc.
