X-Factor in 2001 is like when a drummer from a famous band starts his own band after getting kicked out
So.........it's like Uncle Kracker leaving Kid Rock and starting his own band? :lolbron:
The jokes just write themselves :laughingphil:

Also, for the record, today's booking shyts all over 2001 for the record of worst. 01 wasn't great, but today, you can just see the bitterness in everything. I don't think I've ever seen booking be flat out combative with the audience.

Also

You can't ever say something is WOAT when it gave us this

The heel turn worked..they threw trash in the ring at Austin the night after WM 17 when he jumped the Rock. Austin has said it over and over again, if Rock was there in the afternoon, he probably would of been much more over as heel.

the heel turn worked yet ratings and overall interest in the WWF began to nosedive?

I said the night after...the Alliance story did work at first....very good buyrate but it became obvious it wasnt really WCW and ECW with Austin being leader and them all sucking up to him.

eh I really don’t think it worked. it’s not like everyone unanimously decided to stop watching the night austin turned heel. it might have thrown everyone off but they still stuck around just to see where it went. that’s probably why things might have held at first. i know that personally i stopped watching right around the summer time of that year and didn’t peak back in until the nwo came back. then after that it was a 6-7 year break.

but the point at which it can all be traced back to imo is the wm17 finish.

They stuck around and what they got wasn't good. Austin and Cripple H made no sense...no Rock...the Taker feud wasn't good. The Benoit/Jericho triple threat was alright...Booker T was botched in his intro...casting WCW as heels....alot wasn't followed up right after Austin turned and again...no Rock aka the biggest draw of the last year.

Doing more thought, if Austin was like it was like in 96-97 where it was true DTA and DGAF attitude it might have been great. Imagine Austin shytting on everybody( Vince, HHH, fans, JR) might be even classic stuff. Pissed Austin and goofy Angle segments might be even more hilarious lol
