Man yall really sleeping on when The Massacre dropped and went 1.1 million in a short week :gucci:

Kiss barbecued that man and even he had to admit that shyt was insane. Em never did that. Em putting up more numbers in the long run tho
Encore came out around that same time and sold 1.5 million first week. His supposedly "worse album"

2005 when the massacre dropped I will say he was probably as popular if not more than em. But that's it.

keep in mind Eminem was huge , but 50 seemed next level during GTODT , he had BOTH co-signs from Dre and Eminem , that be like Drake and Lil Wayne hyping up a artist that turned out to be bigger than them

I’m talking about his prime though :gucci:movies , video games , clothing line , G-Unit shyt was HUGE
Eminem sold 1.7 million first week on his 2nd album. Answer your question?

This is where it gets tricky because of demographics. Eminem sold more music to white people. White people are the majority demographic in the US, UK, and other countries. 50 Cent sold a lot to black and white people, but he'll never have or be able to draw the same amount of white fans that Eminem can. To us it feels like 50 was bigger because as a culture, black people rocked to 50's music more. But in general no, Em was bigger. Also remember that 50's music was heavily bootlegged. I think GRODT leaked 1 or 2 weeks before the release date which made the label bump the release up a few days. Still managed to sell and do crazy numbers. The massacre leaked early too and still did 1.1 million in like 4-5 days or some shyt.

In 2002 Eminem had the number 1 song, music video, album, soundtrack, and movie. Won a crazy number of awards and was the first rapper to win an Oscar. He also had the number one free agent in rap at the time who was 50 Cent. The question should actually be if Eminem was at his peak in 2000 or 2002? Cuz MMLP is what sent him over the top to begin with.

No.

Slightly under equal. Had crossover radio presence but not crossover image presence.

Eminem in 2001
50 Cent in 2003
2Pac in 1996
Snoop Dogg in 1993

These artists (all from the Interscope machine) stood at the pinnacle of the music industry in their peak years. The market value of their presence can only be compared to the market value of the music industry at their respective times
