Did he really think he was on the level where Hogan would put him over?

But he didn't wan't to do jobs for HBK or Nash.

Stone Cold never beat him either....

Hogan refused to hence the switch at WM9 and him dropping it to Yoko at KOTR93 (in a squash no less.)
He did job to HBK at WM12, and we already know why he didn't want to by SS97 time. Not sure about this random Nash stuff.
And he would have done it for Austin in match #3 (House show before SS97/PPV after SS97, or WM14 if he stayed). WM13 wouldn't have made sense since they were going for the double turn. That finish ended up being perfect anyway, and catapulted Austin.

I'll let ya'll cook though.

Bret mentioned in his opinion Nash wasn't ready yet on his shoot interview. Bret also talks bout wanting o put Shawn over since he respected him wrestling wise, it would just have to make sense booking wise.

Bret was always the biggest mark for himself. Hall said that Bret's house was covered wall to wall with his own merchandise and memorabilia:scust:

He was very idealistic which was his demise, and ultimately why I end up pitying him at how tragically his career came to an end

At the end of the day yes I think he's a bit hypocritical. He keeps talking about swallowing your pride and doing what's best for the business, but he then tried to pick where and who he dropped the title to

Can't have it both ways

the funniest thing about brets hypocrisy is his beef with shawn. He refused to lose to shawn at SS97 because he wanted shawn to respect him blah blah blah

did he forget shawn TAPPED in 92 to him at SS?

bret also prided himself on being the champion and setting an example for the entire locker room. surely you could understand why he might be a bit hesitant about dropping the belt to a bunch of guys that would show up to live pay per view events completely hung over from the night before. how do you expect the rest of the boys to take work seriously if the dude at the top isn't held to that same accountability?

i don't know just sayin:yeshrug:

none of us know all the angles so it's kinda hard to have an opinion on it. anything we say amongst ourselves is just baseless conjecture. none of us are really informed outside of a few shoot interviews (which are obviously always bias and only give you one side of the story)
