his 1st 2 songs to drop .. that joint on the belly soundtrack and something else .. everybody thought it was cam..
it wasn't until later they didn't sound alike

and the answer is drag-on's lp bein' wack was never a "goat myth in rap" nor was it a myth and hardly even a thought at all; that album was never a factor

They were beefing over sounding alike though. Cam got at him on Let Me Know and Rap City when he said "He does kid raps. I do grown man raps"
I know why they were beefing but I just thought it was dumb. I fukked with both of them heavy and I never got them confused.
That seemed like the main issue at the time. He was using the exact same rhyme patterns as Cam. First Cam kinda dissed him, then they were cool at one point..... but it was never explained who got what from who.
All the young cats from Ruff Ryders used to come to Harlem to battle, so as much as I ride for Cam I can't just assume it was Drag-On who stole the flow.

but you know how rap is,.. its all a matter of who dropped first.. Cam was already 2 albums deep..
edit: but now that you mention it Cam's pattern did change a bit after confessions

Ehhh, I felt like they were using the same style but Cam was an upgraded version. Cam was more clever, more engaging, and had humor. So I saw how Cam might have been upset, especially when he's "Cam'ron" and dude's name was "Drag-on".
But again for all we know, Cam might have heard dude in a battle or street cipher Uptown and flipped his style. Cam was using the Big L/G Rap rhyme patterns back in the COC days.

I'll just say something that some of y'all are hinting at. Regardless of whether you liked his style or not, Drag-On's raps would lead you to believe that dude was dumb as rocks. Like he got left back in 7th grade twice, and just stopped going to school.

From the bland subject matter to the throwaway Swizz beats. I liked Drag-On at that point but listening to that album made me realize that he's just not an interesting rapper to listen to. He has some hot songs, verses, and freestyles but he just can't carry an album by himself.
