Nahhhh his career has essentially cancelled as it hasn't been the same since he left Grey's. Granted his cancellation wasn't as bad as one of his co-stars as Shonda still liked him enough to bring him back for an appearance on the show years later.
Even ABC still liked him well enough to bring him on another show of theirs right after he got kicked of Grey's. I think they would have kept him on the show had he just apologized about it from the jump instead of digging in his heels about it.
