was it ever a reason given for cole and dot or drake not putting out more work together ?

just out of curiosity

dot did the hook on forbidden fruit and he had a couple bars on a joint off one of cole’s collaboration projects so its clear they been locked in to some extent

cole just brought drake out at dreamville and the energy was crazy, they got that in the morning joint from way back too

closest we heard from him going bar for bar with either recently was the black friday mix a while back when cole pump faked on a tape dropping, but since he went on his feature run and been getting on everybody’s shyt for some years now you would have thought they would have been put some out

shyt doesnt add up unless its something im missing

I think Drake coming into the game with Young Money was always going to prevent him with doing Collabs with artists like Coke and Kendrick. The few we did get(Jodeci freestyle, in the morning, poetic justice) lived up to the hype

Artist want to carve out there own lane, especially big artist like that. Seems to me Drake like's turnup music artist (Migos, Baby, Gunna, Future) or R&B collabs. Just because Drake/Cole/Kendrick are the biggest rappers doesn't mean they have to work together, it can sound forced or like a cash grab.

Them nikkas aint grow up together :heh: , they just so happen to all pop off around the same time

They all from different sides of the map, rap different type of shyt and all come from different walks of life.
im knowing that they didnt come up together thats not what im saying

cole collaborated w both them in the past and its clear theres still some degree of collaboration or at least artistic camaraderie

yu would think there would be some type connection that leads to a song or full feature bare minimum, even a remix

cole just had a joint w a kpop artist its clear creative and stylistic differences arent stopping him from getting on wax w somebody

The Control verse. Cats will deny it to their dying breath but, before that, these nikkas and the rest of their generation stayed doing collabs :mjpls:

This, plus its not as if there isn't collabs between them already; fukking Problems, They Ready, Jodeci Freestyle etc.

Cole doesn’t saturate the market, he doesn’t have features basically and Drake only has space for like 2 lyrical features per album.

They already have like 2-3 songs, that’s more songs than Cole has done with anyone but his own artists.

I think just cause certain people make collabo albums and work a lot together, people expect others to do the same like it’s weird.

When you goats you keep your work with each other minimal. Mike didn’t have Joints with Prince. The Isley brothers didn’t have Joints with Earth wind and Fire etc.
