naw, my employer didn't seem to mind my lack of experience to bring in shopping carts and bag groceries for $4.60/hr at the time

Nah. That's what entry-level jobs are for. It's a harsh reality when dudes graduate and expect to make 70k off the bat. It doesn't work that way except in certain industries. Gotta pay dues like everyone else.
