That’s like a Black woman saying that
“based on historical treatment towards Black men it’s changed Black men’s attitudes towards Black women and society leading them to not desiring to be providers”, when we all know that white men purposely structured society in such a way to block Black men from working and earning fair wages and job opportunities.
In this case, he gets in a position to make serious money and pushes all Black women away.
That’s basically like a Black woman saying “Well, I’m universally beautiful and can probably attract and marry a rich white man, so lemme go do that and avoid any and all Black men, including those who are actually doing well”.
It’s whatever if that is how he felt—
but it didn’t have to be said in a televised interview. That’s the point.
You understand why Black women are the way they are— they are that way because of societal pressures, but instead of finding solidarity and working with a good woman to heal the wounds white supremacy caused both of us, you say fukk that and find Becky with the good hair.
It’s about “escaping” the difficulties of Blackness. It doesn’t have to be verbalized in an interview with White women for the world to see.
