yes and no...originally they were gonna be a supergroup under the name Murder Inc. managed by Irv Gotti (the mutual connection between the 3) but like most things, egos clashed and it never happened. Irv took the name and ran with it as a label

No breh. I bet you was born in the 90's right?

never understood post like this...sometimes they funny but if duke had a genuine question no need for the a$$hole remarks...it is what it is though lol :manny:

The original murder Inc was Jay-Z, DMX, and Ja Rule. I believe it was to be a joint venture with Rock A Fella, Ruff Ryders, and Murder Inc. All them nikkas was on def jam at the time so it woulda been easy to do, I think. it was Jay who said every body ego clashed, they were all just starting to blow up at that time. They all did Damn well solo too, so Dec jam was probably like fukk it, we don't need a group, we eating good off these nikkas.

Not only that but i can see if - or how - Jay & X saw it as a comeup for Ja & Irv. Ja wasn't unknown, but he wasn't right there with them dudes just yet cuz he didn't have anything official out. Early 1999 DMX already had 2 albums, tons of features, Ruff Ryders had their first compilation out, movies etc etc. Jay had 3 albums, a soundtrack etc & both Jay & X were headlining Hard Knock Life tour etc. Ja had nothing outside of his underground stuff, features & songs here & there on soundtracks etc.

Plus it was Irv way to launch his shyt, at that time it didn't really benefit Jay & X anything, as much as i would love to hear that shyt too. Irv was a&r at Def Jam & helped work with those artist but he didn't create them or build them like that, they were around. But launching a record label, creating a "group" as a way to help launch your label is..so so.

As we saw around 2000 Ja was instantly as famous as them & he was constantly on TV/radio etc so it was mostly cuz of Irv's business influence - even though Ja is extremely talented himself, no doubt.

But what you can say is that they were all on Def Jam so it would've been nice like you said. Also, Def Jam were in the red prior to that run just like they were in the early/mid 90s before Warren G's, Onyx, BG & Dresta etc came out. 1 thing i know about Irv is that he would've made it big & dope. I would've loved to just see everything overall. Cuz they wouldve done tours - probably film it too, and just a big thing.

Thank God someone with at least an ounce of fukking common sense realized any group involving that tranny chasing fukk nikka Camel would be doomed to failure.

The minute ppl realized two GOAT's had been teamed with the WOAT rapper who released the WOAT weed plate MCHG Camel's godawfulness would've stood out like his hideous face and the full brunt of his struggleness would've overpowered Ja & X to the point of burnout.

Years later Ja & X are legends and thriving while Camel has devolved into a tranny chasing, cocksucking, bytch ass, jealous ass, insecure, p*ssy whipped, CACriding fukk nikka who's constantly emasculated by his demonic wife :mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

Camel LOST :mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

Yes Time To Build. Id heard of jay cuz he was on that Original Flava joint but I thought he was wack. DMX and Ja Rule sounded like fake ass Onyx members to me. Mic Geronimo actually had the best verse on there which is weird looking back
