no

he wasn't some global peace ambassador

he was an abusive druggie that mocked the people who believed that horseshyt

and he got popped by a nut ass fan

yep. basically.

chapman was touched in the head ... probably had PTSD from the vietnam war

then again the beatles were close to getting lit up back when lennon said they were bigger than jesus. they pissed off a lotta cac christians

that was the biggest reason they became studio rats.

The point is that the "fanatic" could have been used as mind control. John Lennon was a peace advocate through and through.

one, and only thing i will give to the Beatles.. is back in their heyday, they refused to play to a segregated crowd in Jacksonville, Fl @ The Gator Bowl(which is now the Jaguars stadium)..

they said they would only play if they put the crowd together, which made Southerners & the city mad as fukk..

oh, yea.. someone did good job with this, too..

Funny thing is I've only recently gotten into the beatles and as far as solo work, much more prefer Paul Mccartney as his music and the songs written and composed by him tended to have a bit more..."soul" to say the least.

Growing up, all I've known about the beatles is snippets I've seen of their hayday of screaming white girls acting like they were jesus and the music usually referenced by them were the corny 50s "Twist and shout" shyt and this was the height of their "pop band" popularity. I've always dismissed them as corny cac music based on that and still trying to listen to their albums around that time, the music is dated and i can't stand it. I really am not a fan of that poppy 50s rock sound really. But then everything after this album

when they stopped touring and matured more as musicians is :ohlawd: and I've come around and became a fan. All their albums from this point outside of Let it be and Magical Mystery Tour albums which had one or two good songs, solidified their GOAT status. Plus Paul Mccartney has some hits, of course including the classic songs with MJ.:whew:

The funny thing is they actually despised their fans from what I've read and John Lennon was particularly a prick. By the end no one in the band liked his ass. Yeah he was a hippy and preaching the peace shyt but he supposedly used to beat women severely and beat every girlfriend he had including yoko. He was a scumbag.

As far as why he was killed, he was just killed by a nutter and that is it. John Lennon was not influential beyond being a drugged up hippy.

Yeah no, @charmander is right. He was a snake who sold the "Hippie peace and love" shyt as an image but despised the culture and people at the same time
Look up the lyrics to their song "Revolution" written by Mccartney and Lennon.

The irony is that it obviously mocks the culture and these people and their ideas yet I've seen the song used many times as some sort of protest anthem when it openly mocks it :mjlol:.
